Although we source all our products from suppliers that operate from a UK base, the products aren’t always made in the UK.

The products we source for our customers are manufactured and are branded as follows:

  • Made and branded in the UK
  • Made in another country and branded in the UK
  • Made and branded in another country.

Where possible, we aim to offer an option for made and branded in the UK for a lower carbon footprint etc. And if we can source an option even more local than this, then we’ll put that forward too. Where it isn’t, there are sometimes options from mainland Europe – for example, we source from two pens manufacturers in Europe.

Advantages and disadvantages of locally manufactured branded products

Advantages

UK made by its definition denotes a lower carbon footprint as products travel a much shorter distance to the end customer from point of manufacture and uses a UK-based workforce. Turnaround time (delivery timescale) is often also much faster.

Disadvantages

Costs are often still higher for UK made products and the choice of products available (and options like colour, style etc) is still somewhat limited in comparison to those products travelling by ship from overseas.
